FIRETRAC.com is looking to hire a talented and highly motivated individual to join our team. The candidate we are seeking will be able to work under pressure, work with minimal supervision, and be willing to travel. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting, curating, and writing content on Wildland Fires. The FireTrac app is designed to inform and alert users of fires near them and in conjunction with Bridger Aerospace’s aircraft will capture high-resolution imagery over active fires. Within the app, a new feature, AccuFire Live is being developed where you will be the official FireTrac reporter broadcasting daily on wildland fire news. Depending on the severity, duration, and proximity to urban centers, you will be required to travel to report the fire.
The program is just being developed and you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the program and as well as specify tools and resources to make the position a success.

Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications
Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a reporting program on wildland fires from Bozeman and out in the field.
- Create the content on National wildland fire news
- Curate content on firetrac.com and the app for daily fire digests
- Research climate change and fire information to create content to inform users.
- Coordinate with FireTrac team to determine the level of importance of wildfires
- Interview people while out in the field
- Create content for social media and blog posts
Requirements:
- Highly preferred graduate (or graduating) with a degree in the field of journalism or communications
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Interested in wildland fires and climate change
- Interested in people and connecting with a wide and diverse audience base
- Must be able to travel on short notice
- Must have valid driver's license and ability to be insured on company car insurance
- Ability to work outside normal business hours
- Travel domestically – up to 40%
